This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Imagine not having the appropriate tools you need to complete your most important job. It can cause frustration and hinder your ability to succeed. My students face this obstacle on a regular basis in our ever growing technological world as our school struggles to keep up with the continual changes.
My first grade students come to school eager to gain new knowledge.
They love to share their learning and thinking with their classmates and teachers. In our culturally rich school each of my diverse learners brings a special perspective to our class. The problem of technology and computer access at home, referred to as the "digital divide", is one that affects many of my students and we thrive to close that gap by creating technology-rich environment at school.
My Project
Using a document camera is one of the easiest ways for me to engage my students! Texts, small items, and demonstrations can be made bigger and projected for all learners to view at once. Our lessons will become more interactive as students are able to communicate with their classmates by manipulating materials under the document camera to show and explain their thinking. The camera can also be used to take video and photos that can be used to enhance student understanding. The benefits of this technological tool will be invaluable for the academic success of my students!
A technology-rich environment is a major requirement for 21st century learning.
Donating to this project will give my students access to the tools they need to start their journey of becoming globally competitive graduates.
