My students come to school every day (with 98.4% attendance) in a diverse, low-income, urban community. The demographics of my school include Asian, African American, Latino, and Caucasian students. One goal, as a school community, is to focus on the whole child.
My classroom is dedicated to tolerance and humanitarianism.
I focus my lessons on the human experience to instill empathy into my students in hopes of creating a better world for their generation and the generations to come.
We utilize a vast range of texts, sources, and technology that is available to further understand our world and the responsibilities of a citizen of the United States. I want my students to continue to ask deeper questions about their world, analyze perspectives of others, and be able to support their ideas with evidence.
My students are both tech savvy and artistic. We are constantly creating different projects that are both digital and 3 Dimensional. My students need an iPad Pro and pencil to help them perfect their love of drawing and using that passion to drive it into the 21st century.
Graphic Design is an essential component to many current jobs and to prepare students in different mediums to express their love for art.
I have seen other schools use iPads and the pencil to use Google Draw, to create maps, and to enhance their slideshows. This project will ensure that my students can use their love for drawing and help them get a leg up on other students by having the opportunity to use technology to complete this task.
