21st Century Classroom: Flexible Seating for Flexible Learning
My students need flexible seating options so they can choose a seat that best fits their learning styles and books to add to our classroom library set!
I have the most amazing group of fifth graders! I am very excited to give them as many learning opportunities as I can. I teach students whose stories would amaze you. Not one of my students is alike, so I need materials that will accommodate all types of learners. My students are energetic and love to move around while learning. They are each unique in how they problem solve and collaborate with each other. I want my students to feel welcome and comfortable in my classroom.
These kiddos deserve the best.
Flexible seating will give them a sense of comfort and responsibility because they get to decide which seating option is going to be the most effective for them. They LOVE reading and collaborating with other students on their novels.
My Project
Flexible seating" is a hot topic in education right now. As a teacher, I am always striving to make my students feel comfortable in every way while at school. Providing comfortable, practical seating options will give students a place to feel at home so that they can be comfortable expressing themselves and diving head first into their education. Flexible seating allows students to have a choice. Choices are made each day, each hour, and each minute. Giving students a safe place to make a choice helps them learn about decision making. A skill necessary for a successful future in the 21st century. The lap desks will help students move freely to any of the bag chairs or rocking chairs. My students show me each day that the more comfortable they are, the better they learn. Bunjo chairs, stools, and crolling chairs will help them be more comfortable in the classroom.
