Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As we make the switch to Common Core Standards, we must also switch our thinking in terms of technology in the classroom. We can't expect our students to reach for the stars unless we provide them with the proper equipment to reach for the sky. Please join me in making that reach a little easier.
My students have been inundated with large amounts of technology over the last few years of their life.
They've come to expect technology at their fingertips. I would like to make that more of a reality while I have them in my classroom. A desktop computer gives students access to the world, provides a productive environment for homework, and it gives them practice to do what will be expected of them when they get older. Being computer literate is always emphasized in my classroom, and having a desktop computer in my classroom will reinforce that.
My Project
I would like to assist all my students in their academic journey. Being able to use and have access to a computer in the classroom is an essential part of that previously mentioned journey. Students will be able to do a myriad of activities on the computer. Whether it's completing homework, researching information for a project, or simply typing an essay paper. This access to technology will potentially better equip students for the future. Unfortunately the future is no longer just written, it's typed, it's coded, it's on Facebook, it's on Twitter, it's on Instagram, it's reported via online news outlets, it's blogged about, and without access to all the previously mentioned, the future can seem out of reach. Again, please help me make that reach a little easier.
Please help me equip my classroom with a desktop computer for my students.
We do not need a keyboard, mouse, or monitor because I have come out of my own pocket for that. I'm asking you to help me complete my goal of getting my classroom closer to what a 21st Century classroom should look like. Thank you for your time and consideration.
