We do a lot of project-based-learning in our classroom. With the help of technology, my students could do so much more. We have already started blogging but I would really love for my students to start using technology to create and explore through their projects!
We have a class of 26-second graders.
We have 14 girls and 12 boys! My students are very creative and love to explore. They are very enthusiastic whenever getting to use technology and I love seeing them get so interested in learning! We are a part of a public charter school. At our school, we promote project based learning and I, for one, love using technology to fulfill that aspect. So far we use the two iPads in our classroom and the few Chromebooks that belong to the school to do some of our projects. I would like to have more so more students can work on them at one time!
My Project
My students will be using the Chromebooks for project-based learning. We have started a blog, which they enjoy interacting on. If we are able to get these additional technology needs we will start using free online presentation tools to make our stories come alive! I would also like them to use the Chromebooks for research since we are about to start learning more about nonfiction reading and writing.
This project will make a difference because although my students have some technology in the classroom we don't have enough to be a one-to-one classroom.
We rotate throughout the day or week to use the technology we have but I would love for my students to have more access to technology so they can use it more frequently. I would also like to do more projects with the technology, which right now is difficult with the small number.
