This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the last few years, as the school librarian, I have loved sharing the Texas 2x2 books with my younger students! The Texas 2x2 books are reviewed by a committee of educators and librarians in the Texas Library Association and a list is provided each year.

These books would provide an opportunity for students to read new books with great messages and diverse characters.

The topics range from nonfiction texts, books that teach social-emotional skills, building relationships, and some are silly and entertaining! I love to provide them every opportunity to read books that can both teach them and also help instill a love of reading! These books could be checked out by the classroom teachers or the students themselves!
