I am writing to request outside soccer goals that will be able to be used by the entire student population every day...especially in warmer months. Soccer is growing in popularity in the U.S. by leaps and bounds. At our school the students play at recess every chance they get. They currently have no goals outside at all. They mark the dirt w/a line made by their shoe and go from there. If we had outdoor goals i really think they would be encouraged to play even more. It would feel more real and just be super cool. This is my second year as an elementary P.E. teacher so in an effort to do activities they enjoy and would be familiar, I am choosing soccer as our 3rd unit. Our gym is the size of a half gym and we will do many lessons outdoors due to space. I have 2 small indoor goals with nets that provide good targets and can be guarded. Having a real goal helps goalies judge a real goal and it isn't just an imaginary segment of air. So what I'm saying is we would use outdoor goals for P.E. units 4-6 weeks out of the year, and we would also use them all the time for recess/special activities. The addition, these goals would add tremendously to our P.E. department and we will also share these goals w/the whole school for activity at recess. It would just be awesome to have them. The kids would love it. Thank you very much.
