My students need interactive, engaging hands-on math counting kits, a complete folder games library and other activities to enrich our Math curriculum.
Are you a math lover? Kindergarten is a foundation year for many important subjects, especially Math. I want to inspire a love of Math into my students to ensure a successful math future.
I teach Kindergarten at a Title 1 Elementary School.
We educate children who come from a primarily low income, single parent background. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. However, our students make the best of what they have. In addition, they strive to do their personal best each and every day. Our mission is "to provide a quality education in a safe environment where all children can succeed".
My Project
My students need interactive, engaging hands-on math games and activities to enrich our Math curriculum. My students have access to a small selection of hands-on math materials. I want to provide a variety of materials for all levels and learners. Not every material works for every student, and I want my students to have a material that works for them.
These materials support the various topics taught in our Math curriculum. The file folder games and activities will allow my students to have fun while learning. Through the engaging games, my students will improve their skills and practice in struggling areas. With the number beanbags, I will actively engage my students. Little children get wiggly when required to sit and listen, so the beanbags are a perfect tool to get them up and moving. All of these materials will provide my students with a variety of methods to learn by.
Math does not have to be boring.
It can be extremely fun and exciting. In order to make my Math lessons engaging and hands-on, I need to supplement the materials I already have. These materials are an excellent way to capture my students' attention. Let's get my Kindergarteners cheering for MATH!
