My Students

This is my first year as a teacher. I just graduated and can't wait to get started! Only thing I stress about is I want my students to have a safe and exciting classroom. Being a new teacher means I am starting from scratch and trying my best to pull in all the things I will need to give my students the best year. I live in a diverse area where we have students coming from all different backgrounds, some students have parents that have good jobs, others don't have that same luxury. During my internship, I had one student that lived in a tent and had no shoes or bed. The staff pulled together to get her clothes, shoes, and food support from our local church. These are the things I hate to see but as a community, we came together to make it better for her the best we could.

I believe that getting to know your students and supporting their life in and out of the classroom can build the best relationships and grow their education in amazing ways.

My Project

I want to use the easel and manipulatives for small groups to help make the concept more concrete for my students. I want my students to find a love for reading through our own classroom library.

I want to provide a classroom that will allow my students to open up and explore their own learning all while having fun and feeling safe.

I have a few flexible seating options to give my students, along with fidget devices and bands for the chair legs to help some students that might need these items. I do not want my students to suffer just because I am a 1st-year teacher with student loans to pay off, but I also know classroom supplies are expensive but needed to enrich my students' education.
