My Students

Learning grammar rules can be really tough for first graders. These centers will simplify that process and make learning easy and fun!

The students in my classroom live in a lower socio -economic area.

Most are raised by single parents or grandparents. Many do not have aid from their parents in learning the basics of reading or have books at home. They have a passion for learning and WANT to learn to read and write!

My Project

I am requesting 8 interactive reading and writing centers for my students. These centers will allow my students to learn grammar rules, while strengthening their reading skills as well. The interactive centers will keep the students engaged, while also being able to learn in a more independent manor, so that I can focus my attention on students who may need more help.

These reading and writing centers will be beneficial because they will allow my first graders to learn grammar skills beyond using a paper and pencil.

There is a much better chance that they will retain these skills when learned in a more interactive manner!
