My Students
The children I teach don't all get the opportunity to take advantage of public libraries where they can be exposed to rich literature experiences. The next best place to give them this experience is creating a well organized and literature rich classroom library.
My first graders come in each year full of energy and ready to learn. I take responsibility in teaching them first hand how to take care of books, learn to read, an introduction of the many genres and how to keep our classroom library neat and organized.
My Project
By having many book choices at the appropriate level for first graders, they are able to fill their book boxes with "good fit" books of their choice. These books will also be used to listen to with audio so that they can have everyday exposure to what fluent reading sounds like.
Your donation to supply children's books to my classroom will greatly enhance 1st graders exposure to a wide collection of genres. It will also make shopping for books in our classroom very exciting and fun!
