My Students

First graders hunger for interactive activities. The students currently use chalkboards and chalk, which serve the purpose. However, an increase in students who are allergic to chalk dust limit the use of the chalkboards in the classroom.

I teach at a rural school in Oklahoma.

The area is high poverty, with over half the students qualifying for free and reduced lunches. My students are of wide academic abilities. However, the interactive activities allowed by the dry erase board allow every student to be successful. The students like practicing their skills in a non-pressure setting that the dry erase boards would provide. Every student, regardless of academic ability or economic status, should be afforded the opportunity to be successful.

My Project

The purchase of dry erase boards would enable my students to participate in handwriting exercise, literacy activities, math centers, math skills, and small intervention activities. The students will learn a variety of skills including responsibility and will increase their academic ability through the interactive activities.

My students deserve every resource available to them.

The purchase of dry erase boards seem like a non-important purchase to some, but it could be the difference between success and failure for my students. Your donation would supply a whole new way for my students to learn and provide another tool for me to help them achieve their learning goals.
