My Students

I teach a bright and engaged group of first graders. I have twenty-four, diverse students at a suburban public school. We are focused on creating engaged students and deep thinkers who are able and ready to meet the needs of our changing world.

My students have a wide variety of abilities and skills.

I believe that the classroom should be an inviting and workable space for learning. Having a classroom that is flexible and stocked with resources is invaluable in the work we do in getting students to love school and read at or above grade level. I strongly believe in cultivating a positive relationship with students that lets them know that learning is fun and that they are each a valued member of our classroom team.

My Project

These classroom games and supplies will help make our classroom a welcoming inviting place. This project features necessities like paper, pencils, games for learning centers, math tools, cleaning items, and books and games to foster socialization and teamwork. 1st grade is full of fun and learning and we need lots of tools to help us accomplish our classroom learning goals. Students love receiving new supplies to help them feel valued and that a classroom is a welcoming place. In addition, the sight word games and writing tools will help students fill in gaps and be ready for 2nd grade.
