Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My awesome first-grade group in Cleveland is currently comprised of 50 students, most of whom come from bilingual households and receive free breakfast and lunch.
We are a curious bunch who take pride in our growth and skills.
We work hard on being role models and mentors to each other. We are a family and care about each other as such.
Due to financial difficulties and lack of other resources, many of our students come to school without the necessary materials needed for learning.
My Project
This project is one in a sequence of small projects I have created as a result of the uncertainty we are all facing due to COVID-19 (corona virus). My priority is to ensure that, as we return to school, all students have the materials they will need to successfully learn and practice the skills they need in first grade regardless of their parents’ financial situation.
For this project, I am asking for donations towards pocket folders.
These folders will give students a place to keep their daily work. In my room, students learn Spanish (reading & writing), mathematics, and science. We use folders to save our work-in-progress neatly and organized until it is time to turn it in.
