My students need a new HP TouchScreen Chromebook to be able to take tests on the books they are reading.

My school is the little school in the country with the big heart! My school is part of the largest school district in the state but we are in a very rural area. We strive to continue to bring education to life for our students who might not otherwise be engaged in their education. However, there is not a lot of opportunities for my students to have the experiences that other children have.
My students are bright, curious, and sweet children and it is a joy to watch them engage and understand new ideas and concepts.
My students come bounding down the hall to class so eager to learn. I am always striving to give them the tools and knowledge to continue their educational exploration. They love to learn in a variety of ways but especially using technology. I strive to bring experiences to them through technology and other classroom resources.
I have a diverse population of students and a variety of households represented in my class. Parents are involved in their child's education but their resources are limited. The students work hard every day and deserve an exciting and engaging education!
A new Chromebook laptop will give my students the opportunity to have the newest technology of touchscreen laptops. Students would be able to work with digital flash cards, instructional videos, apps that reinforce learning, digital books, and a new listing station. The students will also have fun while learning a wide range of skills and concepts. The Brain Pop Jr. site allows students to learn about historical events, people, science, and math topics and test their knowledge. Splash Math is a comprehensive math practice site that will improve the students understanding of math skills. The Brainzy app encourages kids to learn thirty different math and reading skills through play. The Chromebook will be used as an intervention tool for struggling readers and math students to work on Smarty Ants, our board approved reading program, and i-Ready, our math program.
Having a new Chromebook in our classroom will help bring up-to-date technology to all my students and will help bridge the gap between technology and learning.
It will help enhance the lessons I teach every day. My students deserve all that we can give them.
