Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Some of my students are struggling to read. These books will allow my students to read at their reading level.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and learning levels.
Many face the added challenge of being English Language Learners. They are eager to learn and LOVE coming to school. They come to school each day with energy and a thirst for knowledge despite their poverty and socioeconomic issues.
My Project
My first graders are struggling to read. These guided reading books will provide instruction at the student's reading level. During my guided reading time, I will use these books to help students track words. They will learn to look at picture clues to help them figure out words. They will focus on letters and sounds to try to figure out words. My hope is that these books will foster a love for reading in each of my students.
These books will greatly help the instruction in my classroom.
The main goal of my teaching is to differentiate the instruction for the needs of each student. These books will give the students an opportunity to read and look at books at their level.
