Help me give my students the power to give back through UNICEF Kid Power Bands.

I am a first grade teacher at a Title I school in Charlotte, North Carolina. The school provides the students with a safe and stable learning environment in a sometimes violent and unstable neighborhood. The students are provided with free breakfast and lunch each day to ensure that they have the fuel they need to be active learners. Our school works hard to motivate our students to reach for the stars by promoting college and career readiness starting in kindergarten.
I believe that a zipcode should not determine a child's future.
That is why my scholars need your help to provide the best nurturing and engaging learning environment to ensure their success. They are smart, loving and incredibly gracious children who deserve the world.
I am requesting a class pack of Unicef Kids bands. These bands count steps like a FitBit for kids and work as a digital watch, teaching kids to stay active and learn to tell time. The more the students move, the more lives they save. They will work as a team to earn points that unlocks therapeutic food that UNICEF delivers to severely malnourished children.
The holiday season is always a tough few months for my children and I want them to find happiness and strength in giving back.
Although my students come from extreme poverty, I still believe it is important for them to learn that even they can give back and help others. I hope to have this project funded by Christmas so that I can give the gift of giving back to my students. Every student in my class will get a Power Band and as a class, we will work hard to stay active so we can feed others around the world. I think this would be a great way for my students to learn the importance of being healthy, global citizens.
