This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our scholars receive free breakfast and free lunch. For many of our scholars, this is the only place they receive a healthy meal. Many of our scholars come from single family households, without the means to provide their students with the necessary school supplies for the year. Many of our scholars have experienced indescribable hardships and come to school as a safe haven for their personal struggles. Often, some scholars have to walk through areas of violence to and from school.
Despite these hardships, we believe that our scholars deserve the best educational experience and that we need to work together with families, schools and the community, to provide our scholars with the skills necessary to have the most opportunities to thrive.
My Project
The additional tablets will allow us to have enough technology for each scholar in the classroom. This will allow everyone to be able to access information on the internet. Not only that, but we will be able to have books placed on the Kindles so scholars can an a larger number of books to read.
