I have a new group of 2nd grade students this year. Wow, they're absolutely incredible!
These children are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.
Our school is a family of administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.
My Project
Technology has come fast and furious to the forefront of our world in education recently. Students and teachers alike have had to learn, and learn quickly, how to harness the power of the technology at our fingertips - and time and time again I am blown away at how fantastically my students grasp what is thrown at them. Now, as we start a school year with uncertainty, we do know one thing for sure: sharing of supplies will be extremely limited.
This is why I am striving towards providing my students one-to-one technology.
By adding these iPads to my classroom, I can get even closer to ensuring that each child has their own device that will remain with them throughout the school year. This will help limit the amount of cross-contamination that occurs when supplies are shared while also limiting their exposure to possibly harmful chemicals that are needed to properly clean shared supplies. Finally, being able to supply each child with their own iPad will give students the opportunity to stay engaged with the curriculum even beyond this pandemic!
