Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is my first year teaching. I am so excited to work with my peers at NCHS. The students seem amazing and I feel that I will enhance their learning, while they enrich my teaching career. Ultimately, I would like funding for classroom decorating to make an inviting class for my students. I believe that when students feel welcome, they do better work. They try harder for a teacher who cares. This will enhance both students and myself for the year to come. Thank you.
My Project
Basic supplies for a new teacher will help with the environment for my students. They will see that I care for them by my appearance, but I want our room to say the same thing. When they come in for the first week, they are going to be nervous and not know what to expect, if I can make the room feel inviting and warm, they will feel more comfortable. This class is SPED English, but they still do the work. They can power through the class with a little slower pace. This will specifically help my students with their basic supplies since this is a title 1 school. The lesson plans will include the students using the supplies for every day use because they cannot afford the supplies from home.
