My students are constantly discovering new ways to enjoy reading, and new authors and titles to share with myself and classmates. My list of book requests is added to daily.
In addition to regularly scheduled class times students are often popping in to obtain books before and after school, as well as between classes.
I can barely keep our new titles on the shelves!
As we continue into the school year there are so many opportunities to continue to grow my students as readers. And I am so enjoying their enthusiasm. Each time I put in an order there are groups of students checking in on the status of our new books daily and asking what they should read next.
My Project
In our library students visit weekly, and during this time we use non fiction texts to learn about all sorts of new topics. Most importantly we are working to improve our overall reading skills during these visits. As we meet weekly it is important to continually update our collection so that students can continue to pick up new non fiction and expand their worldview!
Please help me in providing these mind expanding activities in our library.
With this many new non fiction texts you will be providing an entire school year worth of inspiration for students in preschool through 3rd grade. What a beautiful way to support literacy in our community.
Each time a student learns about a new plant, animal, occupation, planet, or habitat you will be a part of their journey. Please help me to create strong readers while also tapping into children's natural curiosity and excitement for learning.
