Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very special first graders in a high needs area of a borough in New York. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come to school every day eager to learn.
Unfortunately, my classroom does not always have the supplies we need.
Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment. Thank you!
My Project
Our first grade class is already planning for the 100th day of school! Our students are being pushed to reach their dreams and potential. We are planning a fun-filled day for the 100th day of school. These materials will help us to set up math centers and interactive activities for students. The books, pencils, erasers, and bookmarks will be given to students on that day as a way to acknowledge all of their hard work thus far. I want to make sure that the day is really positive for my students and these items will help to make that happen. We will also be celebrating friendship on Valentine's Day. My students will make cards for each other and then deliver them in the valentine boxes. They will also receive valentine snacks and treats.
I want to make February a really special time for my students.
