Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In the middle of a valley is a class with eager and bright students needing your help. My students need materials to enhance math, writing and reading skills. The students in our class come from a range of socioeconomic, academic and cultural backgrounds. However, they have a lot more in common than they do different.
Our classroom is an inclusion class where there is a mix of general education and special education students.
Students learn from one another. They learn to become role models, peer reviewers and learn to get along with one another. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
The thirty clipboards we are requesting will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be able to move around the classroom freely and work in the area that meets their learning potential. Not every student works well sitting at a desk, some like to sit on the floor, others like to sit on pillows. The clipboards will allow them to sit where they want and have some control of their learning.
We need to prepare our children for a world of innovation and technology.
We are requesting one Samsung Chromebook laptop so students can rotate and publish their weekly writing, create digital presentations, conduct online research and listen to digital stories. We are an inclusion class, some students have difficulties gripping a pencil, writing and reading so the Chromebook will offer another way for our students' to display their learning without the traditional pen and paper and provide technical support to meet the individual needs of the students.
