Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love school and work very hard every day! I take pride in them being so kind, respectful, and enthusiastic.
I love showing my students new experiences, materials, tools, and anything that will help them grow.
Some of my students did not attend preschool and didn't have an early childhood experience with play, creativity, or opportunities to gain independence!
I am excited to have a classroom where students can engage in hands-on student lead learning beyond our classroom walls!
My Project
Hands-on math tools allow for young learners to understand math concepts concretely. Currently my students use ten frames virtually, however the hands-on ten frame boards that I have requested will inspire and engage my students.
These materials will help my students gain a strong foundation in math.
The ten frames will allow for students to count by tens, add, subtract, and both compose and decompose numbers. These then frames can be used both in small groups and at our math exploration table during math centers.
The stamp letters and numbers will also work wonderfully in our literacy and math centers. They will allow students to have fun and be engaged with their learning.
