My Students

My students are from a small, rural community in the heart of central Pennsylvania. Many of them have not yet found their musical niche in band or choir, so by offering a modern band experience, I hope to tap their creative potential and unlock their love of music making.

Let's face it, middle school general music classes are not always the most exciting classes with all that music history, a bunch of dead composers, and fancy terminology that makes it like a language all its own.

Now imagine learning all that while actively creating, composing, and performing music on real instruments that you might see in a rock show.

My Project

Our guitars have arrived and we are really starting to rock, but the sounds just isn't complete. Now you can help us fill out our band a little bit more and add to our musical skill set with the addition of keyboards. After all, what is a modern band without a great keyboard section to help with the harmonies. Students will learn chords and chord progressions, as well as practicing the melodies. Soon we will be on our way to improvising and really having a jam session! The enthusiasm for general music class has really improved with the addition of hands-on instruments and authentic learning. Please consider enhancing our learning with this great addition!
