All of my students are visually impaired or blind. These students do the same work as their classmates when their work is modified. These materials make it possible to learn alongside their peers as they do the same work. By making charts, maps, graphs, math facts and many more assignments tactile and auditory, it gives them a chance to stay in the classroom with their friends and keeps them motivated. They are all so thankful for anything that someone does for them. They are truly my sunshine and remind me to appreciate life.
My Project
The Fridge Numbers will help visually impaired children learn to count, identify numbers and write them. It is important that visually impaired children learn to correctly form the letters and numbers as soon as possible with the small group or one to one instruction they get at this age. As visually impaired children go to kindergarten, they usually learn more from a distance. This becomes a challenge when learning how to form letters and numbers. Most of my students can't see how letters or numbers are formed. This leaves them to create bad handwriting. It makes a huge difference when taught in preschool.
The wobble stool will help some of our youngest learners by letting them move as they learn so they can concentrate for longer periods of time.
It is tough to learn when you are full of energy. Various seating helps children. The storage containers will help them see what items are in the box to teach organizational skills.
