My Project

The items I'm requesting will make an impact on my students learning by helping them learn what to do when they are dysregulated. It will not only make a difference for them in my classroom, but also in their homerooms and their lives outside of school.

My goal for this project is to teach my students the skills they need when they become dysregulated.

I work at a Title 1 school where many students have experienced trauma. I want to improve my two calming corners that I started implementing this year with the items I'm requesting in. I have been working on meditation and yoga with my classes. With the yoga books, meditation pillows, weighted stuff animals, and breathing boards my students will be able to use the calming corners and apply what we have been working on their own.

My students are special in that they come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and countries. My students strive to do well, are caring, and are eager to better themselves through mindful practices.
