Mr. Esposito from Baltimore MD is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a projector to make class exciting and to show them how math transcends all aspects of their lives.

For all of the times that we have said "I am not a math person", help my students become "math people" by making it a subject that utilizes technology to show how math can transcend all aspects of their life.
At an art school, every one of my students is passionate about their art, dedicated to mastering their craft in order to become the best that they can be.
Also, fighting for their affection are their cell phones, smart phones, and iPods that are hopefully stowed away deep in their pockets during class. As you can imagine, with all of this passion and technology filling their hearts and minds, there is not a lot of room for math. We need to give these passionate kids, who have a thirst for technology, an opportunity to harness them both in order to discover all of the magnificent things that math has to over.
The most common phrase that I hear my students say under their breath in class is, "WHEN WILL I EVER USE THIS IN THE REAL WORLD". Little do they know how truly integral math is to their daily lives. It is one thing to tell them, but it is another thing to show them all of the ways that the math they are learning about will help them in the future. A projector in the classroom will enable our class to utilize multiple medias in order to connect with the world of math. From more exciting notes, to videos, and pictures students will be able to see a fuller scope of the subject of mathematics.
In the 21st Century high school students are asked to learn many different languages.
They need to know not simply English and a foreign language but the language of technology. In order for my students to compete on the college level and in the work forc, they need to feel comfortable with technology and having a working projector will be the first step to helping that future.
