Mrs. Tripp from Monroe LA is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need dry erase markers and extra math practice that is fun.

Remember waiting for your turn at the board? Well, hopefully our class will no longer have to wait. We are requesting dry erase markers, so that each child can actively participate in the entire lesson, not just when it is his/her turn at the board.
My students are third graders ranging in age from 8-10 yrs old.
My students are bright and talented children who sometimes need more motivation than others. Motivation may come in the form of a hug in the morning or a smile as you pass by in the hall. Our school is a PK-5th grade Title 1 school. Title 1 means that we have a high percentage of free and reduced lunches. Our school is a high poverty school, and I am always looking for ways to keep students motivated and interested in school.
I am requesting dry erase markers and math practice dry erase boards. The items will be used daily. The math practice will be used in math centers for students to time each other and increase both speed and accuracy. The dry erase markers will be used in EVERY subject! I believe having dry erase boards and markers for each student will keep students actively engaged in learning. Students will be able to practice writing spelling and vocabulary words, writing sentences, and even answering questions related to Social Studies and Science.
This project is important to our class because I want my students to stay in school and be successful.
By providing dry erase markers, I believe more students will be actively engaged in the lesson. This could even be the motivation needed to help that struggling learner put for the extra degree of effort needed to learn a specific skill. Together, we can do this!
