My Students

What was the last thing you read? Probably, it was nonfiction: an email, a recipe, an article in a magazine or newspaper...all of these are examples of nonfiction. I encourage my students to read more nonfiction through our Adventure Around the Library program for 4th grade.

We are in a growing city just south of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.

My kids are becoming better readers through new programs in the library and with the support of their dedicated teachers. They are excited to come to the library and they look forward to checking out books about topics ranging from snakes and sharks, to sports and crafts, to famous people and history. Hot topics right now include Justin Bieber, football, snakes and sharks (always!) and history-- especially of wars.

My Project

There is precious little more gratifying for me than getting the right book to the right child at the right time! This infusion of new nonfiction books will help more kids reach their nonfiction reading goal in the Adventure Around the Library and give them a sense of pride for having completed it. For many, this may be the first time the read a book from cover to cover!

These new books will be available to all the children at the school for years to come.
