Mrs. Schultz from Harrisburg PA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPod Touch, for recording the morning announcements, and a case to keep it safe!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
A student-run morning announcement program focused on student success will teach students the skills they need to make their dreams a reality.
Our school is high-poverty, Title I, urban PreK-8 school in Pennsylvania.
The students I work with face a variety of hardships and life stressors. I want school to be a safe and caring environment where they feel welcomed each morning. Students want to feel ownership of their school and connect with other students.
Students will use the iPod touch to create a morning announcement program that is fun and engaging. Students will be in charge of producing, creating, and hosting the program. Having the morning announcement program student-run will give them a sense of ownership and pride in their hard work. Students will gain valuable 21st century skills by utilizing technology to create the program. The morning announcement program will be aligned to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) academic, personal/social, and career standards. Students will learn valuable skills and gain important information that will not only help them be better students and citizens, but will make them college and career ready!
Having an iPod Touch to create a standards aligned morning announcement program will allow me to touch the lives of all students in the school every day.
This program will reinforce a positive school climate and teach students valuable skills they need to be successful in school and in life. Your donation will make this fun and engaging program touch the lives of all the students I serve and help make their dreams a reality!
