This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Graphing calculators are necessary for students to explore advanced graphical representations in depth. They are particularly critical for linear, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions.

Our students are eager to learn more about the intricacies of math and are excited with the prospect of adding more advanced math courses to our school's course offering list.

They understand the importance of math for college acceptance and have embraced technology as a means to understand math better.

My Project

Graphing calculators will help our students access more challenging material and will give them a greater understanding of topics critical for success in careers involving engineering, computer science, physics. Many urban students are at a disadvantage because their schools do not utilize important tools like graphing calculators. Our students will not be impacted similarly with these tools.

Without graphing calculators, more advanced mathematical concepts will elude our students, keeping them at lower levels and unable to compete with other students applying for college.
