My students need educational supplies, like Listen, Read & Rhyme with Dr. Seuss, Phonemic Awareness Cubes, and a Reading Response Station, for centers.
Albert Einstein, Mozart, and Walt Disney are just a few people who are thought to have had learning disabilities. What would the world be like if they had given up?
As a Special Education Inclusion Teacher, I am blessed to have the opportunity to spend my days with 21 of the most amazing children I have ever known.
Ranging from students with learning disabilities and autism, to general education students who struggle with reading words and phrases, we have a wide range of needs within our second grade classroom. To ensure those needs are being met, we spend the majority of our day rotating through teacher led small instructional groups.
My Project
The students in our classroom who receive special education services understandably become frustrated at times. They want to read books at the same level as their friends and do not fully grasp why they can't. With your help, my goal is to lessen their frustration and provide them with more freedom during center time By presenting them with two to three rotating options at each center per day, they will decide what activity to participate in. Your donations will be utilized to purchase a variety of educational supplies that will challenge these students regardless of their skill level. .
It is up to us to instill pride in our youth.
If they doubt themselves at this young of an age, will we ever have another Albert Einstein, Mozart, or Walt Disney?
