My Students

Assessment is so important and with only 30 minutes in each music class it is always a challenge to make sure students understand the objective of the lesson. With assessment tools accessible at the chairs it will allow us to make use of every minute we have together!

My students come from many different backgrounds and just over 40% of them receive free and/or reduced lunch.

We are very fortunate to have a wonderful variety of instruments available for students to use and they love to tell their friends and family what they are learning about in the music room. Being able to quickly assess students at the end of a class will help them get the most from their music time and help the teachers know what they understand and what they still need to learn.

My Project

By using these resources in the music room it will help us to use every valuable moment we have for instruction and still be able to ask students essential questions at the end of each lesson. All assessment materials will be neatly organized at each students' chair. The pockets will hold pencils, paper and teacher made answer cards made with a different color for quick viewing. The color coded pocket charts will help organize essential questions for each grade level. Students will be able to refer to both the objective of the lesson and the lesson wrap-up question throughout the lesson to help them stay focused.

Donations to this project will help students learn valuable music concepts.

With all materials, objectives and questions easily accessible students will stay more focused and retain more of the information they have learned.
