This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Be the change you want to see". Help our inner city youth become active members of society by learning about sustainability, the environment, how the earth works, and how to conserve energy.

My students are interested in learning more about environmental science however the only resources we have are the book and information off the Internet.

We are not able to do any hands-on activities so that the students can see how what they are learning in the book relates to everyday life.

My Project

The resources that I am requesting will help change the students lives by making them more environmentally conscious.The students will also enjoy science again. They already established an environmental science club at our campus and now they would like to go into the community to help others because environmentally conscious. The materials that I am requesting will allow the students to create wind turbines and see how the energy is transferred.

This project is so important to me because we don't have the funds at my school to obtain the materials that the students need to be successful when they leave and enter into college.

The students will know how to use lab equipment and have a better understanding of science because they have had a chance to touch it.
