Biology tells the beauty of nature and the world that we live in. Labs let you be hands on with and experience science first hand! Our students, however, are missing out on many of these opportunities because of a lack in basic safety equipment! You can spread the love by giving a glove! Thank You!
My students are students that mean well.
They're kids who are willing to trying new things and the thought of failure, which strikes fear in most, doesn't even make them budge. They may come from a family where education isn't valued or that is broken. They may come from a family where money is tight and times are hard. They may not have the support at home needed to achieve great things, but they have hope! Hope that their chance will come. Hope that one day they'll be the one who is sought in times of need. Hope, that will not only push them to new heights but drive them to success. Hope, that with the right resources can not only change their lives, but many of the lives around them. I have, and will continue, to push my students towards greatness and most not only accept the challenge, they mark it with excellence. My students are the hope for tomorrow.
My Project
It's hard understand stars without a telescope. It's hard to eat soup without a spoon. It's hard to succeed without help and guidance. True, this all can be done without the fore mentioned, but it is no easy task. It's hard to fully understand science without being able to carry out experiments in lab. This is the challenge my students are facing. Learning happens best when students have the ability to be hands on and engaged in the material. This is exactly what lab allows the students to do. However, here the rub. Basic necessities, that the students need to carry out different labs, are very limited. Gloves, aprons, goggles, etc. What goods a car without the gas? What good are microscopes without slides? My students will learn so much more with these basic items at there disposal. Students will be able to transcend from a basic understand of biology to application of their knowledge. Labs appeal to students of all backgrounds. Once we have their interest only the sky is their limit.
Without these bare necessities none of this is possible.
The future doctors or veterinarians may miss their chance because me have to ration our supplies, do virtual labs, or cut labs out completely. This will not only benefit the students it will benefit the community around us for years to come. Thank you!
