My students need a flip cam to video tape the progress of our school garden.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Have you ever lived in a city and tried to grow a garden? That is the case of many of my students. They do not have access to land or materials in order to have their own garden. Through our gardening program, students learn essential math and science skills as well as life skills.
I work in an extremely diverse schools.
Students from all over the world and the common thread is their interest in gardening as well as environmental sciences. It is amazing to see children actually want to spend time outside instead of in front of a television or computer. By providing a flip, we can document our work and the growth of the garden throughout the school year.
Children very seldom get to view themselves making a difference in the world. I think if the students and future students get to witness their hard work throughout the year, it will only make our program stronger throughout the following years. Many schools do not offer gardening clubs such as ours. Through the funding of this project, it will encourage other teachers and students to get involved.
Have you ever wanted to be involved in something that makes you feel like you make a difference?
Our gardening program gets the kids outside, teaches responsibility and fosters teamwork. I think it is extremely important for students to witness this. Videotaping with the flip camcorder will allow students to actually witness all of it.
