My students need rhythm kits and a 12' parachute to help build essential rhythm and locomotor skills.

Can you imagine going through primary school never once knowing what sound a drum makes, the sweet sound of a flute and exploring the creative world of the arts? My kindergarten students can potentially go through school never to be exposed to the creative world of music.
My kindergarten students in Florida are experiencing many things for the first time in school.
Many of them cannot name any instruments and cannot imitate the sounds and rhythms that instruments and music make. They are eager to explore and experience hands-on the world of music but do not have the resources to do so. More than 90% of my class live at or below the poverty line and come from neighborhoods where there are not many outlets to musically express themselves. My classroom has no proper instruments to help them express themselves as a 5 and 6 year old ought to.
Providing instruments and the supplemental aids for music time will help spark the creativity and expressionism my students long for. By having instruments and supplemental materials to build rhythm, locomotor, and fine motor skills, my students will be able to appropriately master essential life skills and a new love for self-expression that no one can take from them through music. If my students have these requested resources they will be able to play, express, and learn in a hands-on manner. Without instruments and tools to build locomotor skills they will miss out on valuable developmental requirements needed to be successful in their future educational paths. The arts in my region is facing much hardship and it is up to me to expose my students as their kindergarten teacher to the beautiful world of creativity and self expression.
My students so strongly desire to express themselves individually.
The arts especially music has been the doorway to a world of joy and happiness for so many people. Someone had to introduce our musical prodigies to the world of instruments and music. It is my responsibility as their teacher to ensure that they are exposed to a wide array of educational opportunities. Without instruments and supplemental materials to build early rhythmic skills in my classroom, they will suffer.
