This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

100 percent of my students live below the poverty level. 80 percent of them are more than 3 grade levels behind. You can change the odds of success for my students.

I teach 100 amazing and talented 9th grade students who are excited to be entering the world of high school.

For many of them, the next four years, will be the last chance they have to get back on track academically. In our efforts to close the achievement gap, and to ensure they get the best high school start possible, I am reaching out to folks like yourself.

My Project

My school is seriously under resourced. As a result of budget cuts, I receive one ream (500 sheets) of paper per month for over 100 students. My students don't have text books for home use, and 500 sheets is not nearly enough paper to provide the rigorous instruction necessary to bring my students back to grade level.

You can help to change the odds for my students by ensuring that they have enough paper to get them through the academic year.

Please help us to focus on the things that matter--quality instruction, not paper.
