Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 7th grade science teacher in Austin, TX working at a school where over 90% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Supplies are sometimes hard to come by for the students and they could greatly benefit from a little extra help to make vast gains academically and socially.
The following was taken from their website and summarizes their kits and why this system is fantastic. I was able to borrow some kits from UT and use them this year and my students would greatly benefit drastically from this system.

CPO Science equipment modules are designed for inquiry based learning. The beautiful hardwood construction and friendly feel make them irresistible to students. Underneath the attractive surface are ruggedly constructed quantitatively accurate scientific tools capable of challenging the most intrepid student.
These physics kits will allow students to test the principles of force and motion, friction, acceleration and velocity. Students will assemble the ramps with the photogates and time the trials to calculate speed. The kits have many more pieces and allow students to explore more and really get a hands-on experience with these difficult concepts as well as reinforcing math skills.
This opportunity would greatly help students who are struggling to read and grasp more abstract concepts. I would appreciate any aid in helping my students become better readers and better people while showing them anything is possible.
