Do you know what film was like during the Golden Age? What was radio like way back then? With visuals, my students will get a much better idea of what some of the classics were like before I was even born.
My students are 9-12 graders at a vocational high school in New Jersey.
The students are studying a four year program in television, radio and digital media. Students eventually move on to college or to the television or radio industry upon graduation. Students study television, film and radio history as part of this career academy.
My Project
It is so important for my students to have supplementary resources available to them that support my lessons about the historical significance in the television, film and radio industry. Though I do not believe that videos should be used in place of lessons, they certainly do help support lessons with visuals that help the students get a much better understanding of the field.
These videos will be used in my class for many years to come.
With so many visual learners, supplemental materials like these can help those students get a better idea of the lessons taught. Students will be able to appreciate the historical value of their career major and will be able to describe what it was like years ago as if the shows were in their own living room today.
