Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"But I'm not done reading that book yet! Where do I put it?" I've heard this question many times and would like to provide a good answer for my students.

My students come from very low income families and the majority of the money I spend on my classroom goes towards basic classroom supplies.

I don't have money to spend on the organization tools since I have to provide pencils, notebook paper and folders - just the basics - from my own paycheck.

My Project

Students will be able to take ownership over their choices of books in a safe an orderly way. Less and less books will be damaged by placing them in a special box (one for each child, of course) instead of shoving them in their desk. Students will be able to reserve books for future use. The chart stand with a magnetic dry erase board would be such a wonderful addition to my whole group and small group reading and word work time. Our materials are in so many different places and this would help maximize learning time by putting everything in one location. I won't have to stop teaching to gather materials. Class can go on!

What a wonderful gift both of these items would be to our classroom!

Students can get organized and so can the teacher! More learning time would happen with less time wasted gathering books and materials.
