My Students

Scientists change the world with discoveries in medicine, biology, geology, and other areas. I would like to help inspire my students to consider the sciences as fun and exciting instead of "stuff you read about in a textbook".

My students attend an urban charter school in Indiana.

Many struggle with reading and math skills and are able to really excel when they are presented with hands on opportunities. The students at our school are energetic, curious, and ready to learn more about the opportunities that await them in the world.

My Project

Science is an exciting subject, but sadly many students only experience it by reading about it in a book. I am asking for microscopes, prepared slides, cell model kids, rock cycle kits, and more to help my students have the opportunity to learn science through experience- not just by reading it in a book. These materials will allow students to really make science come alive and be a meaningful experience for them at school.

Science is an important subject in school that doesn't get the attention it always deserves.

Without an exciting science program many students may overlook the sciences as potential career paths. By providing engaging lessons and materials where students can learn by doing you may help inspire a student to become the doctor that helps cure cancer or the biologist who discovers a new species!
