My Students

In a brand new school this past year, the goal is for the students to have ownership in their school. The goal is to learn and to increase respect for the building.

The district opened up a new school this past year.

After its inaugural year it is my belief that some new respect needs to be formed with the students. A great way to do this would be to allow the students to decorate parts of the building with their artwork.

My Project

Last year, I received a small grant to buy painting supplies and paint to paint projects on my classroom walls. The grant has been spent plus some of my own money so that last year's students could finish their projects. Now I need some more paint for next year's students to clean up some parts of my walls and to add a few more pieces in my room, along with starting their own in the Social Studies hallway.

Last years students took the time to research and learn civilizations from throughout history, while gaining ownership in the school.

Now we need to move forward and have a whole new class gain ownership in the school. The paint I need, added to the supplies I already have will accomplish this goal. The art does not just inspire those that made it, but also those that did not because they see the respect for the students that the school has for them.
