Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine a world of dust-free color! A classroom whiteboard could solve two educational dilemmas with one stone: my asthmatic students who suffer from clouds of chalk dust, and also my motivationally-challenged students who struggle to be engaged by traditional chalk-on-the-blackboard presentation.

My dynamic ninth graders learn in a special education, self-contained high school classroom.

I instruct them in English, Global Studies, Math and Living Environment. These compelling youngsters strive to learn and work hard to rise above their poverty level. All of these students are eligible for free lunch and live in an urban setting. I am often complimenting my kids for their Big Beautiful Brains, though their disability often torments these youths with short attention spans as well as asthma.

My Project

Introducing a whiteboard into my classroom would say goodbye to daydreaming students! Brilliant blue, vibrant violet, radical reds: I can't imagine my students being able to keep their eyes off the board! And when it comes to math? I can see every student, taking their favorite color and enthusiastically showing their work on the board! Imagine deep breaths without chalk! Imagine biology diagrams in full, vivacious color! Imagine an ENTIRE class playing attention because the colors pop and engage them!

You can't teach a child until you have their attention!

And I am willing to use every trick up my sleeve to grab these students' Big Beautiful Brains so I can pour teaching in! Advertisers know that color catches the eyes of consumers; help me use zesty colors to educate excitingly.
