My Students

Do you like it when you need a paper, a book or an important piece of mail and you can't find it? Well, neither do my first graders! Our organizers have seen better days,they are falling apart and need lots of TLC! Four new organizers will help us rest easy and know that we are organized and all things have a home!

Our school has a high number of students who live in poverty.

Many times, these children have not been taught how to take care of their things and stay organized! The children and I are a "school family" to one another. We take on the philosophy that our classroom is our school home. I teach them how to keep our school home organized and clean. We all learn how important it is to have a proper place for all things! These organizers would allow the students to house their take-home folders and mail, as well as their reading workshop supplies and writing folders. I want them to learn respect for property and others. Not only is the organization of these materials crucial to our school day, but also will teach them respect for property and others!

My Project

I am requesting four mobile organizers for our classroom. The children need places for their mail and their folders. They also need a place to keep their reading and writing folders, books, etc. I currently have organizers in place (which we use daily), but they have seen better days! I think it is important for children to learn the philosophy that everything has a place! I think it makes our classroom run smoothly and efficiently. I think teaching first graders to be organized and efficient is a great thing! Our take home folders and reading supplies need homes! Please help us!

The children will have all their things organized and all ready to go when it is time to use them!

This will afford them more reading and writing time, because all things will be organized and ready to go! So, your help can help us to stay smart AND organized!
