My Students

Do you love art and support our troops? Please take this opportunity to enhance the lives of young artists while they, in turn, brighten the life of a soldier through the Batik art form.

I teach Sculpture One and Two classes in a public high school on the coast of Georgia.

I teach the electives to students in the 9th through 12th grades. Many of my students have deployed parents, and I enjoy a very eclectic mix of diverse children in my classroom.

My Project

So often students go through their educational journey without ever being exposed to 3-dimensional art mediums. The tactile nature of sculpture materials serve as a tool for self-expression and self-discovery. High school students need an outlet to convey such feelings. Your gift will make such a difference in the lives of young learners by allowing them to express themselves. Please donate to our cause, and allow my students the opportunity to create beautiful Batiks and share with deployed soldiers.

Budget cuts across the state have put my class in jeopardy.

Half of my supply budget was taken this year, but we are forging on. We recycle more and waste less, but we have a great need for expensive items. For each Batik created, we promise to make and send one to a soldier. Because the dyes may be used for multiple fabrics, students will be able to make a soldier Batik without the use of extra supplies. Your donation will empower art students and support the troops.
