Help my students find their voice and see the power in poetry! I teach 8th grade language arts in a Northern New Mexico public school.

My students are eager to learn and even more eager to voice their opinions, so I would love to use this motivation for expression in our upcoming poetry unit. Due to increasing budget cuts, I was unable to purchase classroom novels this year. The novel Bronx Masquerade combines poetry and prose and is set in a classroom setting. The poetry and lives of the characters relates directly to my students and I am positive the novel will draw my students into reading and writing poetry.

I would love to have 25 hardcover copies of the novel Bronx Masquerade, so I may teach poetry in a relative manner to my students, hopefully inspiring them to use their own voices in poetry they write.

Your help in purchasing these novels will make it possible for my students to study poetry and read a class novel at the same time.
