I am privileged to teach kindergarten at a small charter school in a Southern California community. Our school is a safe haven for children living in a gang-ridden, violent neighborhood. All of our students qualify for free breakfast, lunch, and before- and after-school programs. Our student body is 60% African-American and 40% Hispanic, with a large population of English language learners. We are a very small school of only 160 students from K-8. We have been doing great work in this community for ten years, but we have had to spend so much on infrastructure that our technology has suffered.

We have two laptops up and running this year. Having those two laptops is great, but we share with the whole school and only have access 2 days a week! With 23 students, every student ends up getting on it once a month! Kindergarteners won't remember how to use a computer when they only use it once a month!

What are we going to do? How will I ever get my students computer-savvy? I know! Let's get one for the classroom! You know what would be amazing to have with it- a printer! Wow! Am I dreaming big or what?!

I am requesting all HP products because their quality is unparalleled. I'm really excited about students having access to technology. Their future depends on it!
