Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My recently arrived students to the USA are in my sheltered US History classes and need dictionaries to improve their vocabularies, learn English and be able to read the English based texts. I also tutor many of them for the MCAS and SAT and a personal dictionary will help them stay in school and graduate.

I have about 80 students and have donated well over 18 dictionaries but the majority of students (80% come from families earning less than $30,000). The school does not provide dictionaries and I would like to have each student have its own dictionary for his/her personal use.

The solution is a basic English Spanish dictionary which will facilitate their learning. My students have a 95% attendance record, are great young people and this gift would make it easier for them to complete their homework.
